Academic Degrees

The Academic Degree in Martial Arts involves proficiency in one of the following areas:

  • Teaching (Martial Arts) studies

  • Studies and research in Martial Arts

  • Studies and research in the history of Martial Arts

  • Style analysis

  • The philosophy and the ethics of Budo

 


The Academic Board accepts the following for approval as a part of the Martial Arts Academic Educational Program:

 

  • Academic degrees, diplomas or certificates from disciplines other than Martial Arts

  • Publication of research articles, books or booklets

  • Recommendation from an accredited teacher

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume

B.A

  • Presentation of 6 theses in the following subjects (specifications as defined below):

    • Anatomy and Physiology

    • Psychology

    • Ethics

  • Statement from a Budo Teacher confirming the presentation of one of the theses in front of a student group.

  • Minimum period of studies: 24 months

  • Exceptions - subject to the Dean's approval
     

  • Minimum age: 21

  • 1st DAN

  • Practicing for 5 years or more at accredited Budo Ryuha/ Organizations/ School/ Dojo.

  • Recommendation

  • Detailed CV

M.A

  • Presentation of 4 theses in the following subjects (specifications as defined bellow):

    • Anatomy and physiology

    • Psychology

    • History of ancient Martial Arts

    • Ethics

  • Preparation of a main thesis to be presented to the Academy

  • Minimum period of studies: 12 months

  • Exceptions - subject to the Dean's approval
     

  • Minimum age: 24

  • 3rd DAN

  • Is practicing for 7 years or more at an accredited Budo Ryuha/ Organizations/ School/ Dojo.

  • Recommendation

  • Detailed CV

  • B.A awarded by the Academy or a relevant academic degree, recognized by the Academy
     

Ph.D

  • Presentation of 4 theses in the following subjects (specifications as defined bellow):

    • Anatomy and Physiology

    • Psychology of Martial Arts

    • Education Methodology

    • Ethics

  • Preparation of seminar thesis to be presented to the Academy

  • Minimum length of studies: 24 months

  • Exceptions - subject to the Dean's approval

  • Minimum age: 29

  • 5th DAN

  • Practicing for 15 years at accredited Budo Ryuha/ Organization/ School Dojo

  • Detailed CV

  • M.A awarded by the Academy or a relevant academic degree recognized by the Academy

  • Seminar thesis structure: As approved by the Academic Board.

  • The student will provide two copies of the printed and bound thesis.

  • The thesis will be in English. 

Courses, advanced training and certification studies

 

 

  • The request for all Academic courses and advanced training can be reserved by direct application to the Rector's chamber, Dr. Ron KLUGER.

  • The academic Board will approve the final terms of the course/ training.

  • Courses can be organized and managed all over the world.

  • The minimum number of participants for all courses: 25 students.

  • The following organizations are entitled to reserve courses: Ryuhas, Martial Art Organizations, Schools, Martial Art Dojos and Authorities.
